Huawei HarmonyOS information

Huawei and HarmonyOS together have come across a long journey. From the time when HarmonyOS came into the limelight to date, it has remained one of the best software products of the company. Taking a flashback, and predicting the future, let’s discuss some vital information about the Huawei HarmonyOS system.

The founder of Huawei – Ren Zhengfei introduced the term HarmonyOS and its information in 2019, for the first time. Giving a brief note on how the new operating system will provide immense benefits to the users, Ren mentioned a few aspects of the respective subject.

Ren said that HarmonyOS is a first-level operating system. Consequently, it originally supported only the telecom networks and maintained the end-to-end encryption to 5 milliseconds, or even lesser. Besides, at that point, HarmonyOS stepped onto the consumer platform as a Lite OS or an IoT (Internet of Things) system, that the company released in 2015.

As a Lite OS, the company used to equip HarmonyOS in the embedded devices. However, the Lite OS was not able to gain fame in a good manner. Hence, the Chinese manufacturer decided to revamp the infrastructure of the system and once again bring it to the users’ surface with new abilities.

As a result, Huawei officially released the HarmonyOS system as Hongmeng (Chinese term) at the 2019 Developer Conference. The CEO of Huawei – Yu Chengdong explained that Hongmeng means opening up the world and gave a similar name in the English dictionary as Harmony.

On the other hand, Yu revealed that if Google does not open the doors of the Android system for Huawei, then the company will install the HarmonyOS system on smartphones. And later on, we know how things went for Huawei devices.

Initially, Huawei decided to push the respective system only for IoT devices. But, things took a U-turn and the company started powering its smart gadgets with the HarmonyOS system. At the same time, Huawei introduced the HiLink and LiteOS devices to make IoT development simpler and more efficient.
