Service widgets are amazing and Huawei has built them deep into the HarmonyOS ecosystem. HarmonyOS 3 comes with two new handy features called stack widgets followed by group widgets, which we’ll explore in this session.

Service widgets:

Service widgets allow you to preview app info and access key features without opening the app. You stack different service widgets together with great ease or to save screen space.

First, you can swipe up an app icon to expand its service widget and touch on the pin icon on the top right corner to add its service widget to the home screen.

Alternatively, tap and hold an app icon with a widget bar indicator, then touch Service widgets, select your desired widget style and touch Add to the home screen. This will add that app widget to your phone’s home screen. However, there are different widgets size to choose from.

The difference between these two features of adding service widgets could be explained like these:

  1. Pinning service widget is a quick way
  2. While going for Service widgets will allow you to choose different sizes before you can even add that on the home screen.

harmonyos 3 service widgets

How to group widgets:

HarmonyOS 3 has a new Widget group feature, which allows you to put app widgets of different sizes into a large folder and access them with one tap, similar to applications.

To do so, hold and drag a service widget to another service widget of any size until the two widgets partially overlap with each other. Tap and hold down on a service widget group to edit or remove it. That’s how you can create a group of widgets.

Stack widgets:

HarmonyOS 3 brings you the ease of managing home screen space with stack widgets, just hold and drag a service widget into another widget of the same size. Make sure you hold and align these widgets completely until they overlap each other.

Now you can change these widgets by swiping up or downwards as they are now stacked in a single place.

Huawei is bringing the service widgets to EMUI 13 and with that, the phone maker will also deliver another useful feature – App Snippets at your service.

First introduced with HarmonyOS 2, Huawei’s App Snippet is amazing and it makes it so easy for you to navigate through an app’s key features.

App snippets work with gestures, you need to swipe upward on an app icon. Then, the app will respond with a popup window and several options.

Each app will bring a set of options related. For example, the camera app will reveal features: photo, video, portrait, and selfie.

Once you select any of these options, you can directly option that specific camera mode, without requiring to open the camera app first. Similarly, other apps will showcase their specific functionalities.

Add Widget:

Initially, Huawei used the app snippets feature to add home screen widgets. Once you open app snippets, tap on the pin icon (on the top right corner) to add it as service widgets.

This is a simple way to give the user control of managing widgets on the home screen and it’s quite handy in action.

This app snippets feature comes at default and with EMUI 13, which will improve your user experience.

EMUI 12:

Last year, Huawei introduced EMUI 12 for various devices and the company has already seeded that in various models. Adding this feature to EMUI 13 will get you better app interactions.

App Snippets is a feature that is incomparable to Android or iOS devices because it’s a remarkable innovation made possible by Huawei. As we hope that the introduction happens as the users await.

Meanwhile, Huawei has not announced an official launch date for this new EMUI version but we may see the software in public later this year.

We’ll keep you posted.

HarmonyOS 3.0 is the next version of the HarmonyOS operating system that will drive more features into Huawei devices. Speaking of which, there’s news that HarmonyOS 3.0 OS will come with a new and improved widgets system and customization feature.

According to a new leak coming from a Weibo tipster, Huawei will focus further on the privacy and protection of the user’s data. On the other hand, HarmonyOS 3.0 will improve the widgets feature along with bringing new customizations.

A screenshot from the tipster shows a widget that will help you manage all of your essential permissions right from your home screen. On the other hand, it’ll also keep you updated with the number of each type of permission that you have granted so far including camera, microphone, location, internal storage, and more.

HarmonyOS Widgets:

Widgets are an essential part of the HarmonyOS operating system and were introduced first in HarmonyOS 2.0. This feature is based on atomic services and shows you information right on your home screen coming from the system or from any installed mobile application that supports widgets features.

The simplicity of widgets allows you to create a shortcut to an application including a set of ‘key’ features, which enables direct interaction with that corresponding app without opening the app entirely.

The navigation is clear and easy to use, as you can select the size of each supported widget individually. This feature makes it lightweight and productive on the HarmonyOS device’s home screen.

Status Bar:

A recent report reveals that the company is working on new improvements for the status bar of HarmonyOS 3.0. According to the report, there is some shuffling made between the icons that include the position of each icon that now sits on either the left or right of the display.

Talking further on this matter, these improvements are being made to utilize the overall workflow and combine them for maximum productivity while interacting with HarmonyOS 3.0.

This new attribute of the software is only accessible for Chinese as well as Indian ROM over the Global interface. Why is it so? Let’s find out.

Why new exclusive features of MIUI 13 are limited to China and India?

As per Xiaomiui, we have a strong reasoning concept behind the introduction of the MIUI 13/Android 12 widget feature in India rather than on a global basis. In consideration, India is a large platform for showcasing Xiaomi products. Moreover, the users residing in the nation are fond of smartphones such as Redmi, Mi, and POCO.

Moreover, Google applications are essential elements for European ROM. The users here find Google feed instead of any special element of the MIUI system. Whereas, these applications remain to disclose in China. Therefore, the new exclusive traits of the latest software are available for only China and India.

MIUI 13/Android 12 – New Widgets

The newly revamped widgets of the latest software deliver plenty of advantages. It carries various improvements related to customization and layouts. With its unique outlook and functions, it provides the users with iOS experience in the Android smartphone. The users can find these widgets in the app vault as well.

MIUI 13/Android 12 Widgets

To some extent, the Indian MIUI interface access less number of widgets in comparison to the Chinese one. But, there are sufficient varieties in the feature that can offer the best response to the users in terms of functioning and operating management.

MIUI 13 Interface

The newest software of the company satisfies the users with several fascinating characteristics. It not only beautifies the UI with smooth animations and live wallpapers but also adds firmness to the privacy and security system of the device.

Thereafter, the software provides a rich performance experience that contains better optimizations in respect to screen and functionality errors. In short, we can say that MIUI 13 proves to be one of the best outcomes for Xiaomi.
