After the events of the U.S. ban, Huawei had to reduce its capacity of building new smartphones, which result in low yield and sales, and now, Xiaomi claims that it took over 50 million of Huawei’s users.

During the Xiaomi Investment Day, Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group said that Huawei has lost over 80 million smartphone users, of which, Xiaomi took over 50 million.

This is quite a big statement made by the head of the Chinese phone maker as Huawei was forced to leave the market due to the restrictions on manufacturing.

After not meeting the market requirements the share of Huawei’s smartphone market declined severely in both the Chinese and global markets. While other smartphone makers are the ones that got most of the benefits.

Xiaomi and Huawei

From the rest, Apple took over 20 million users and Honor grabbed 10 million, which accounts for an overall 80 million Huawei users.

According to the data revealed by Canalys, the global smartphone market ranked Samsung first and Apple second, which has increased by 22 percent and 19 percent respectively. While Xiaomi declined to 13 percent.

Aside from Apple and Samsung, other smartphone maker has declined. On this matter, Xiaomi’s president said that the decline in his firm is related to various reasons such as currency depreciation, chips from shortage to surplus, and intensified competition, the global mobile phone market will decline by 12% in 2022, of which the Chinese market will decline by 13%.

Why not?

It was an opportunity for all of the smartphone companies with an open opportunity to grab Huawei’s market share and it fell directly into their lap without doing anything.

Huawei and its satellite communication are once again in the headlines. After Apple, it looks like Samsung is planning to follow Huawei and implement satellite communication technology on its flagship gadgets.

Satellite Communication technology is gradually becoming a trend in the market. In recent times, we come across several tech makers that are trying to adopt the respective feature for their devices or operating systems.

After Huawei, satellite communication enlisted Apple, Google (Android 14), and now Samsung. While Apple has already offered the benefits of satellite features with iPhone 14 series, Google and Samsung are in the preparation phase.

The latest information reveals that Samsung has associated with Iridium cooperation and is finalizing the satellite communication development for its next flagship smartphone – the Galaxy S23 series.

In our previous reports, we mentioned that Samsung is looking for a satellite connectivity provider other than Globalstar. This was so because Apple already merged with Globalstar for satellite features.

Thus, Samsung decided to take different steps in this tech concept. Eventually, it seems like the Korean tech maker has found the right companion to proceed with the new technology.

Samsung and Iridium

Speaking of the Iridium group, the cooperation utilizes the 66 low-orbit communication satellites. This framework offers effective voice and data communication services for users without any network hindrances.

On the flip side, the info states that Samsung has been working on satellite communication technology for the past two years. In the meantime, the company was dealing with antenna challenges as to how to make it a compact and power-efficient element.

Consequently, just like Huawei and Apple, Samsung’s main objective is to provide its users with immersive voice, messages, and image transmission facilities. And who knows, we could find the satellite tech with Galaxy S23 in the first quarter of 2023.

Satellite Communication – A long race!

Huawei is the first company to bring satellite communication features with the dynamic Mate 50 series. Ultimately, the feature is capable of relieving communication services even in low-area networks.

Thus, a user with Huawei Mate 50 smartphone can conduct calls, send a 19-20 characters text, scan a code 8-10 times, and generate trajectory maps and locations.

On the other hand, Huawei is making the corresponding feature more useful with the Mate 60. Yes, the internal tweaks suggest that the new version of this technology will enable two-way communications, sending voice messages, and making short voice calls as well.

It won’t be wrong to say that when it comes to technology and innovation, Huawei remains one step ahead.

Know More: Huawei Mate 60 may launch new Satellite Communication Features

Apple iPhone 14 series – SOS feature

Following Huawei, Apple also launched the iPhone 14 series with satellite features. It has implemented the Emergency SOS feature which combines with the software and connects antennas directly to the satellite.

As a result, this mechanism starts messaging functions with emergency services. Being an iPhone 14 user, you can use the feature under low-network or Wi-Fi coverage.

Android 14 is also on the list!

Yes, Android 14 has also appeared in the satellite communication headlines. The information states that Google is also making efforts and could initiate satellite features on the next coming Android version.

In the time ahead, we could see many competitors in this tech field. But it would be worth seeing which manufacturer will remain in the first position regarding satellite communication.

During HDC 2022, Huawei launched various HarmonyOS technologies and the company also shared how it could run different devices as compared to Apple.

Yu Chengdong, Huawei Consumer Bussiness Group CEO said Huawei uses one operating system for all of its devices. These include various devices such as:

  • Smartphones
  • Tablets
  • Smartwatches
  • Smart TVs
  • Smart cars
  • Smart things

In June 2021, Huawei unveiled HarmonyOS for smartphones and other consumer devices with the slogan “One as all, All as one”.  Afterward, Huawei started seeding it for smartphones using OTA software updates.

huawei harmonyos for various devices

Apple:

Apple began its journey on consumer devices solely with iOS, later on, the top tech maker distributed the operating system according to the platform.

These are:

  1. iOS for iPhones
  2. iPadOS for iPads
  3. watchOS for smartwatches
  4. tvOS for smart TVs
  5. macOS for Apple computers

Yeah, these have their own specialties but they also share developer comfort in terms of compatibility.

Compatibility and user interface:

Compared to Apple, Huawei has been focusing on major compatibility features for the HarmonyOS operating system from the very beginning. And in the past two years, Huawei made major progress in this matter.

HarmonyOS 2 was used on smartphones, tablets, smartwatches, smart TVs, smart devices, smart cars, IoT devices, and more. This OS could run up to 128KB of memory-supported devices, which Apple cannot do due to its closed-source policy.

Furthermore, HarmonyOS 3 has strengthened the core elements of its predecessor with a number of new features and optimizations to improve the user experience.

Huawei designed this smart operating system to run on various devices, which is allowing it to increase installation all over the world. At Huawei Developer Conference 2022, Huawei Consumers Business Group CEO, Yu Chengdong announced HarmonyOS operating system exceeds 320 million installations.

harmonyos 320 million

The growth of the OS was recorded by over 113 percent as compared to last year. The flip side shows that HarmonyOS Connect devices have grown by over 250 million and there’s a 212% on-year growth.

At the event, Huawei also released HarmonyOS 3.1 and confirmed that the HarmonyOS 4 will launch next year. There’s a lot more to come on HarmonyOS and we’ll keep you posted.

It’s November 2, and Huawei is all set to launch the most awaited smartwatch – Watch GT Cyber on the consumer platform. Undoubtedly, Huawei Watch GT Cyber is going to be a tough contender against Apple and Samsung like tech giants.

So far, the Chinese manufacturer has unveiled several devices on the user’s ground. Besides, we have seen numerous amazing wearable creations of Huawei in recent times. However, Watch GT Cyber is something that can easily lock your attention to itself.

In the past few days, Watch GT Cyber has created a lot of excitement among users. And why not, the respective wearable has appeared with a fascinating design in the official teasers. It won’t be wrong to say that, this device has redefined the term “innovation”.

Although, Apple and Samsung have offered some meaningful gadgets, to date. From dynamic Galaxy smartwatches to supersonic Apple Watches, we have seen several good creations in this field. But, Huawei Watch GT Cyber shows “what true innovation is” to Apple and Samsung.

Watch GT Cyber – Dashing Outlook

Huawei has done some seamless and outstanding work with Huawei Watch GT Cyber. The company has shared a massive promo poster, highlighting various segments of the device.

If you have been searching for a unique wearable design, then you must have a look at the Watch GT Cyber. As per the official teaser, this is the first smartwatch to integrate a detachable dial on its surface.

The word “detachable” reminds us of the Huawei Talkband series. Eventually, the gadget enables its users to remove the screen and often works as Bluetooth earphones. It seems like Huawei Watch GT Cyber is quite inspired by the Talkband design.

Huawei Watch GT Cyber Samsung Apple

Unlike the Watch GT 3 series, the overall smartwatch is quite advanced and exhibits a stylish look. No doubt, the wearable would surely overtake its rivals and will stand at the top in the market.

On the flip side, the device also leaked in live images. These images make our reflection clear. According to the details, the device shows a circular base with four sliders around it. These sliders might work as a channel to detach the dial from the watch surface.

The device has not touched the real ground yet. Hence, we cannot say what else is hidden in its hood. However, from the edges, it’s clear that the Chinese tech maker has brought a tough contender among various tech makers in wearable merchandise.

Apple and Samsung Wearables:

Apple and Samsung count as the top manufacturer of smart wearables. As mentioned, both cooperations have delivered some of the best gadgets and tech-oriented products to consumers.

But this time, Huawei has taken the lead in the market. Slowly and steadily, the company has started raising its success bar with its ultimate inventions and solutions.

At present, we all are looking for the Huawei Pocket S launch event, where the Watch GT Cyber will appear officially. It would be worth looking at what more tempting additions the smart wearable will bring for its users in the launch conference.

Android phones and iPhones are the giant names in the gadget world. Both terms are well-known for showing advanced and dynamic features onboard. But a recent tweet shows that the 2023 Android phones could be inspired by iPhone 15 Pro design.

Today, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo shared his thought about the next flagship iPhone models – iPhone 15 and 15 Pro. According to the analyst’s predictions, the respective high-end Apple phones will adopt solid power buttons and volume rockers.

For your information, these solid buttons would be similar to the ones we find on the iPhone 7, iPhone 8, and iPhone SE 2 and SE 3 models. This will include the Taptic Engines mechanism at the internal sides.

As a result, while pressing the volume or the switch buttons, the user will feel a solid physical touch on their device.

Android iPhone 15 Pro design

So far, the company was already using Taptic Engines. However, this structure will increase these engines from one to three units. This will make the initial components of the device significantly efficient and will make it more reliable.

“My latest survey indicates that the volume button and power button of two high-end iPhone 15/2H23 new iPhone models may adopt a solid-state button design (similar to the home button design of iPhone 7/8/SE2 and 3) to replace the physical/mechanical button design,” said Kuo.

Android will follow this design as well!

Further, the observer said that this design will not only remain in Apple’s pocket but will also revolve around Android phones. Probably, we could see the flagship Android phones embracing iPhone 15 Pro design on their surface.

Why so? Kuo said that as per assumptions, high-end Android devices will follow Apple’s footsteps in this case, to increase their market value. Ultimately, it would be a positive sign for the American manufacturer if it happens so.

Android iPhone 15 Pro design

Android following Apple – not a surprise!

It shouldn’t be a surprise to see Android walking on Apple’s path. We have seen several times, that Android manufacturers have taken some or other ideas from Apple. A good example could be the drop of the headphone jack from the devices.

Apple was the first to give up on the headphone jack mechanism. Although at that moment, various companies, including Google mocked the American tech maker. But things didn’t take much time to bring an overall change.

In 2017, the Pixel 2 series came into existence without a headphone jack. And soon, other tech giants also started following this trend.

Something similar is taking place with the eSIM technology. Again Apple is the one to start the eSIM thread. And no doubt, Android manufacturers will soon adopt this technology.

As of now, Kuo didn’t make any statement regarding which Android tech maker will be the first to showcase the iPhone 15 Pro design on their smartphone models. One name that pop-ups in the mind for a phone’s design is Samsung.

Consequently, Samsung phones are familiar to exhibit some eye-catching layouts. Thus, there are chances that we may find an-iPhone inspired look in the upcoming Samsung series. On the other hand, Google can also show this change in its Pixel 8 lineup.

Let’s see how the changes will go from Apple to Android devices.

Huawei and its satellite communication feature are tremendously trending around the world. Apple has also used this feature in iPhone 14 series. And it looks like, it’s time for Samsung to copy Huawei regarding satellite communication features.

Huawei technologies have always been a surprise to the world. Whether it is a new imaging system or design-oriented features, the company has served users with some awesome and eye-catching gadgets and attributes.

If we talk about the recent edition, the Chinese manufacturer has initiated a satellite communication feature with Mate 50 series. Following the lead, Apple also jumped on the ground and brought the respective part in its latest release (iPhone 14).

Ultimately, the two giant tech makers made the satellite subject quite popular in the market. And as a famous tech player, Samsung doesn’t want to remain behind in this race and is also planning to follow the same satellite communication path as Huawei.

Huawei Satellite communication Samsung

Samsung – A new member in satellite connectivity!

According to the newest information, the Korean company might introduce satellite connectivity functions to its high-profile Galaxy smartphones. Though Samsung is just planning for the moment, we can’t say how much time it will take to bring the feature to the surface.

On the other hand, the information also suggests that Samsung could turn its face to another satellite connectivity provider rather than Globalstar. Since Apple has already shaken its hands with Globalstar for receiving 85% of its current and future network capacity. Hence, it doesn’t seem like there is any space left for Samsung.

Yet, other satellite connectivity providers could help Samsung in this aspect. As per the reports, the company can take help from Starlink services to implement the satellite features on its handset products. But confirmation from the company side still awaits.

Speaking of the satellite communication feature, Apple has such techniques that can send a short SOS message in just 15 seconds. However, the condition is that the function is only applicable under a clear sky. Otherwise, it can take more than minutes. Overall, we can say that Huawei scored much better in this subject than others.

On September 7, Apple introduced iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, these phones come with a new Dynamic Island feature, which in our find is truly stolen/taken/inspired by Huawei smartphones. How? Let’s find out.

Before we cut to the chase, let’s find out what Dynamic Island actually is.

Apple has outcasted the notch with a new face id module. This head part of the display consists of a pill shape and a single hole punch to house face id sensors and a selfie camera. Then, both of these punch holes are placed inside a maximized pill shape module.

However, Apple has shown its creativity with the introduction of Dynamic Island, which responds when you interact with recent apps, receive notifications, or play music. The face id area now works as a mini taskbar with a bunch of alerts and showcases.

Has Apple stolen the dynamic island feature from Huawei?

On December 26, 2018, Huawei launched Honor View20 AKA Honor V20 smartphone, it was the company’s first phone to feature a hole punch display. To be mentioned, it was one of the first smartphones in the market to come with such a screen design.

apple dynamic island huawei

That’s not it, the company has brought in a new feature Capsule. While on call, the phone generates a capsule or pill shape animation on the right side of the front camera, showing the ongoing call duration.

Furthermore, the feature also reminds users of posture while taking selfies from the front camera. The feature was very smooth and intriguing for the consumers.

Honor V20 is such an example, which launched pre-breakup between Honor and Huawei. However, it shows the significant achievement of the company that has become a sensation for the next-gen iPhone devices.

Yes, we know that Apple has its own way of doing things, and perfecting what Android manufacturers have already achieved in the past but still, it has stolen from Huawei and presented with iPhone 14.

Huawei has once again secured its place in the top five positions, this time for the smartwatch shipment. This shows that the company is amazingly popular among consumers across the globe for its devices, especially wearable gadgets.

Today, Canalys has released a new report, based on the shipment details of the wristband devices. According to the information, the global shipment of wearable gadgets increased by 2.0 percent in the second quarter of this year and reached 41.7 million units.

Earlier in the first quarter, the respective shipment procedure has seen a decline of 3.7 percent. However, the high-profile tech giant managed to bring back the original position of the smartwatches in the global market.

Interestingly, the demand for smartwatches in the market is back and has increased by 46.6 percent. Whereas, the wristband watches have reached 9.3 percent respectively.

Huawei smartwatch shipment

Huawei is in the third position

Fortunately, Huawei has attained the third position in the smartwatch shipment report. The list begins with the name of Apple at the top with a dominant result of 26 percent of the market share. Thereafter comes Samsung with a  58 percent of growth rate.

The third rank goes to Huawei with 8.3 percent of the market share for smartwatches. And we already know, how the Chinese company implements its wearables with eye-catching features and advanced look and design.

Following the lead, Noise cooperation gains the fourth rank with 5.8 percent. This company is at the top in leading the Indian smartwatch market in the current scenario. Last, but not least, Garmin with 5.5 percent of the market share.

Solely speaking of Huawei, the company has recently introduced several new handy gadgets with exciting features. In the latest development, Huawei has also unveiled the Watch GT 3 Pro Titanium Strap Edition with the WeChat version.

With high-tech functions and technologies, Huawei manages to keep itself in the top five rankers. And who knows, next time we could find the company at first.

Huawei Mate 50 series carries numerous brand new features in its bag for consumers. The company has truly made good efforts in the internal and external edges of the flagship models. But let’s not forget that the dimensions are also equally important. And reports suggest that Huawei Mate 50 Pro-weight is much lighter than Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Apple has unveiled the iPhone 14 series and revealed the detailed specifications of the handsets on its official website. On diving into the depths, we found several surprising elements about the latest iPhone models.

However, the attention-seeking part is the weight of the iPhone 14 Pro Max which is a little extra than the Huawei Mate 50 Pro smartphone. The specs reveal that iPhone 14 Pro Max weighs 240 grams, which is 2 grams heavier than the previous version – the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

In comparison to the Mate 50 Pro which weighs 209 grams, iPhone 14 Pro Max is quite heavier. Ultimately, this gives an idea that the Mate 50 series is not only lighter in terms of weight, but will also provide a feather-like comfort on your hands.

Huawei Mate 50 Pro weight

Battery Life: iPhone 14 vs Mate 50

Another point reflects the battery life of the device. With iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple has improved the battery structure. The company has increased the video playtime of the iPhone 14 Pro Max up to 29 hours, 1 hour more than the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Although, if we talk about the Mate 50 series, then Huawei has implemented a battery component that will support the device in every situation. Even if the battery exhaust, the power won’t. It consists of an emergency battery mode feature that makes the device good enough to restart the device even if the battery is worn out.

Both devices are playing their role in every aspect of technology. Yet, it depends on the general consumers as to which device they will make to stand at the first position in the smartphone market.
