Huawei IFA 2018 conference date and time leaked, Kirin 980 in the showcase and Mate 20 later
Every year Huawei holds two flagship series conferences, that cover first half with ‘P-series’ and second half with ‘Mate-series’. The company has already brought us P20 and P20 Pro in Paris, so the upcoming second half is ready to cover Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro.
Ahead of its IFA conference, an image has unofficially appeared on the internet, that reveals Huawei will hold a new product launch conference at IFA 2018 in Berlin, Germany on August 31, at 2 PM Central Daylight Time.
There’s a huge possibility that this poster could be a false count ahead of the official event because Huawei has not announced any news on this image.
It was previously rumored that the new Kirin 980 processor and the annual Mate 20 flagship will be released in a schedule similar to last year as one after another, let’s explore further on the expected launch dates of both products.
First off Kirin 980 SoC Is confirmed to launch in the IFA 2018 conference. After the launch event of Huawei Nova 3 earlier this month, a Huawei official has announced that the development of the Kirin 980 chip is about to reach its ending and the launch conference will be held during the IFA in September.
According to the recent exposure, Kirin 980 uses TSMC’s 7nm process and integrates the second generation of Cambrian NPU. The CPU and GPU cores are further upgraded (currently expected the latest ARM core is Cortex-A76 and Mali-G76), but it is unlikely to adopt self-developed GPU because of the production date. Considering that the Kirin 970 used the A73 core in the CPU part last year, the CPU aspect of the Kirin 980 expected to be more adequate this year.
Moving on to Huawei Mate 20 flagship, the chances of Mate 20 series to appear at IFA conference are quite not possible. After all, the Huawei Mate series is not a kind of flagship that participates in IFA, instead, the company chooses to hold its own conference in Munich. Considering this year’s pace, the company could introduce Kirin 980 first and then Mate 20 series in later month similar to last year which will be equipped with Kirin 980, GPU Turbo Technology and better camera setup.
Let’s have a talk about Huawei’s subsidiary ‘Honor’, a launch poster that has appeared online shows Honor is also planning to launch a new product in Europe set to unveil on August 30. This device could be Honor’s last month installment Honor Play a Gaming phone geared with heavy specs.
Recently a launch poster was also revealed by Amazon India website which shows the launch date of Honor Play in India on August 6. Way ahead of the above-mentioned date but it contains something similar to the promo poster that nearly confirms device’s identity. Honor’s next Note series flagship ‘Note 10’ will be launched on July 31 in China which could also take part at the event in Europe.
The Huawei P60 series is currently in the making but the next nova lineup, Nova 11 is also working in the background to equip a new pill shape center hole punch display similar to the iPhone 14
According to the information coming from Weibo tipster Classmateguan, Huawei Nova 11 has started testing with a flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ chipset.
That’s not it, the tipster shared a render, which is photoshopped but reflects the intentions of the tipster to highlight key factors of the upcoming Nova devices.
According to the image, Huawei Nova 11 Pro could adopt a new pill shape hole punch design placed on the center head of the smartphone. As for now, Huawei has not used such a display design in smartphones.
This design went popular after it was originated in iPhone 14 series and later introduced in various Chinese devices. The wide punch hole is likely to use a dual camera system, one for selfies and another for the depth of field. Also, it could be utilized in the Pro model rather than the standard.
The phone is using flagship Snapdragon 8+ fully unlocked at high frequency, which could contribute to power consumption. Compared to this, Huawei Nova 10 series went on with Snapdragon 778 for Pro and non-Pro variants.
Furthermore, the camera desing has been rearranged, there is a large ring placed on the top, consisting of a main camera. It was followed by two cameras vertically including a periscope camera. To be mentioned, the camera design is cylindrical similar to the Nova 10 lineup.
As a new phone, Huawei will bring up XMAGE imaging technology with Nova 11 devices.
Huawei Nova 20 series:
Ahead of this, tipsters and past reports predicted the phone to be Huawei Nova 20 series but the company has not made any official announcement on this matter, we’ll keep you posted on this matter.

Currently, TD Tech has not revealed the pricing of such smartphones in the market bu it could be assigned after direct communication with the customer and the company.

The camera provides powerful and colorful imaging via the XMAGE imaging system while utilizing an f/1.4 aperture large sensor for low-light photography.

Today, Huawei has launched a third-party smartphone store on its E-commerce website, opening the area for companies that are using Huawei’s smartphone design.
According to the information, the Huawei Vmall store will now offer third-party smartphones under the “Smartphone” section of the website. Currently the website listed smartphones from WIKO and Hi Nova series. However, more of these could be listed later on.
The website will allow users to pre-order and buy these smartphones directly from a website similar to the Huawei devices. Also, these phones come with a warranty and after-sale services.
Looking into the details, WIKO 5G HarmonyOS phone has an 8GB+128GB version priced at 1999 yuan. The Hi Nova 10 5G smartphone with 8GB+128GB is priced at 2899 yuan. The Hi nova 10 Pro 5G with 8GB+128GB memory is priced at 3699 yuan.
WIKO 5G, Hi nova 10 5G, and Hi nova 10 Pro 5G are available for pre-order at 429, 504, and 384 yuan, respectively.
Looking at the chipset, the WIKO 5G is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G SoC. On the other hand, the Hi nova 10 series equips Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G processor.
These phones uses Huawei smartphone design and look identical to what Huawei has already published in the Huawei nova series. However, there are more devices that use flagship designs.
