We’re about to see the grand finale of the HarmonyOS rollout on Huawei smartphones. This rollout has been initiated after the launch of this Huawei operating system and now reached over 100 devices. Although, Huawei has kept HarmonyOS limited to the Chinese market but the fans expected that this new OS will eventually drop for the global users.

The HarmonyOS rollout is quite interesting and it has achieved great milestones in the entire process of upgrading the older variants. So, today let’s explore all of the HarmonyOS powered Huawei device list.

Before that let’s take a look at the HarmonyOS saga:

HarmonyOS:

Initially launched at Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) 2019, HarmonyOS is a multi-kernel operation system designed to work across different devices among the Huawei device ecosystem. This new software comes with a bunch of new features and it has distributed technology prowess.

However, the deployment of HarmonyOS in devices only took place initially on Smart Screen (smart TVs) that later became a major success in the Chinese market.

In 2020, Huawei finally introduced – HarmonyOS 2.0 during the HDC 2020 event. This time, HarmonyOS added an excessive amount of supporting platforms that will work in harmony with each other. These include tablets, smartwatches, smart car systems, IoT devices, and the much-awaited – Smartphones.

Moving on, Huawei started HarmonyOS Developer beta testing on smartphone devices, which raised high hopes among Huawei smartphone users. However, the most interesting event took place in June, when the Chinese tech maker announced the launch of HarmonyOS 2.0 for mobiles.

At the launch conference, Huawei showcased a massive roadmap that consist of new to “way too old” devices such as Mate 9 and P10. Talking about the progress, Huawei has already completed 150 million upgrades in the process.

HarmonyOS 3.1 Developer beta open for smartphone users

Today, HarmonyOS 3.1 developer preview testing is opened for smartphone users, this recruitment will enable developers to participate in the open beta activity with developer-only features directly into a real device.

According to the information, HarmonyOS 3.1 developer beta is currently being announced for the first phase of devices including Huawei P50 and P50 Pro. First Android 14 Developer Beta announced, launch around HarmonyOS 4

Android 14 is the next software version for the Android ecosystem. On February 8, Google stepped ahead to begin the development of this major upgrade with the first developer beta.

Google has released the roadmap for the development, beta testing, platform stability, and the final release of Android 14, which reveals meet the launch of Huawei HarmonyOS 4 later in the second half of 2023.

The first developer preview is already out for the Pixel devices. However, Google could open early access to other smartphone makers such as OnePlus by April when the open beta campaign kicks off.

As mentioned by the Android company, Android 14 is projected to reach platform stability by the end of July. But there’s still a possibility of these milestone timelines to delay, similar to last year.
