Huawei MatePad 11 starts receiving improvements and July 2021 HarmonyOS security update

Huawei’s newly launched tablet, Huawei MatePad 11 with HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system started receiving a new software update in the global market.

The latest software update brings improvements, added new user convenient features, as well as installs the HarmonyOS 2.0 security patch, which optimizations the overall performance of the device.

Huawei MatePad 11:

Launched on June 2, Huawei MatePad 11 sports an 11-inch low bezel LCD display with 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution, pre-installed with HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system, equipped Snapdragon 865 processor, and WiFi connectivity.

It also features a 3MP rear camera with a flashlight and an 8MP selfie camera, 6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of storage, 7250 mAh battery, and much more.

HarmonyOS 2.0 security patch:

To be mentioned, this is the first tablet to install the HarmonyOS 2.0 security patch released in July 2021 for improved system security.

According to the information, this security patch that fixes 43 CVEs in the Kernel, 6 CVEs in the framework, 6 CVEs in the system, 5 CVEs in apps, and 65 CVEs in third-party libraries.

New Software improvements:

By exploring the changelog, this firmware update improves the horizontal display, added support for Huawei FreeBuds 4 earbuds, HD video playback as well as optimizes the system stability. [Full changelog below]

New HarmonyOS 2.0 version:

Huawei has pushed a new HarmonyOS 2.0 version 2.0.0.138 upgraded from 2.0.0.122 (C432E2R2P1). To be mentioned, it comes with an updated package size of 415MB.

Note: Currently, this update rolling out in the global market and soon expand in the Chinese market.

  • Apps: Improves the horizontal display in certain third-party apps.
  • Super Device: Adds support for connection with Huawei FreeBuds 4 and simplifies wireless cooperation between the tablet and earbuds.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap on System & updates
  3. Tap Software update
  4. Tap Check for Updates
  5. Download and Install
  6. Install

Today, Huawei officially launched MatePad SE 10.4 in China with 6GB of RAM, which wasn’t available in the global market. According to the information, Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 in China is launched at 1299 yuan for the 4GB version and 1499 yuan for the 6GB version. While there is a 100 yuan instant discount on current purchase orders. While this device is available exclusively on Huawei’s official e-commerce website – Vmall.

Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 comes with a 10.4-inch screen with an 83.6% screen-to-body ratio, 2000 x 1200 pixels resolution, 225 PPI, 16.7 million colors, and an LCD screen panel.

According to the input coming from a Chinese tipster, Huawei MatePad SE 10.4 in China will launch soon with 6GB of RAM. On the other hand, the global model is only listed with 4GB RAM.

The pricing reveals that the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at 1499 yuan for the WiFi version. While the tablet’s LTE version is priced at 1699 yuan.

Huawei is rolling out HarmonyOS 3.0.0.193 software update for two tablets – MatePad 11 and MatePad Pro 10.8. This update comes with new improvements for these large-screen devices.

Huawei is rolling out HarmonyOS 3.0.0.193 for MatePad 11, upgrading from HarmonyOS 3.0.0.190/163. While on the other hand, Huawei MatePad Pro 10.8 is getting HarmonyOS 3.0.0.193 upgrading from HarmonyOS 3.0.0.163. Below you can check the eligible tablet models to get a new software update.
