We’re in the second half of 2019 and it’s time to move towards the launching of Mate 30 series – Huawei Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro, Mate 30 RS, Mate 30 Lite and Mate 30 series 5G. As these devices are ready to showcase Huawei’s next-gen smartphone technologies.

According to the leaks, Huawei Mate 30 to be featuring a 2.5D display with smaller notch compared to Mate 30 Pro, equipped with a waterfall display including a wide notch to house 3D face security sensors and the size of the display expected to be bigger than the predecessor.

Camera:

Huawei Mate 30 and 30 Pro will have a new circular camera design to house quad cameras and there’s a set of LED flash placed on the top left corner.

The Mate 30 Pro has dual main Leica cine quad-camera consisting a 40MP Cine camera (main) + 40MP of SuperSensing camera (main) + 8MP telephoto camera + 3D Depth Sensing Camera.

The dual main camera of this flagship are vary in sizes, first is 1/1.7-inch IMX600 series sensor and the other one is also an IMX600 series lens jointly developed by Huawei and Sony, as its size expected to be around 1/1.5-inch.

On the other hand, Mate 30 may only have Leica triple rear camera but the specs are currently unknown.

The front side of the Mate 30 Pro has three cameras and sensors to power up the 3D face security. The Mate 30 has a dual front camera as well as sensors.

The Mate 30 series will also support 4K video recording at 60 frames per second (fps), which was locked at 30fps in previous flagships. Moreover, a leak suggests that the Mate 30 Pro may come with 8K video recording.

The camera is enhanced with new AI features and Ultra High Definition night photography.

Performance:

Huawei Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 RS come to be powered by Kirin 990 series processors for both 4G and 5G versions. Huawei Mate 30 could start with 6+128GB version and Mate 30 Pro Pro base model with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage that could go up to 512GB, maybe more.

Huawei Mate 30 will come with 4200mAh and Mate 30 Pro with 4500mAh. It’s reported that this smartphone series will support up to 40W wired charging and 27W Wireless fast charging, while it’s interesting to see whether the company could include a faster wired charging for Pro version such as 55W or 65W.

Design:

Huawei will be using the cylindrical design on the back using curved rear glass. The Mate 30 and 30 Pro have USB Type-C ports and speaker grills and the Primary Mic at the bottom. Also, the Mate 30 is expected to come with 3.5 mm audio jack, which is excluded from Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 RS.

On the right, the Mate 30 has volume adjustment keys above the power button in comparison of Mate 30 Pro that only has a power button on the right side and there’s no physical button for volume adjustment instead it’ll come with the touch-sensitive area above power button for the feature.

As for the dimensions, the Mate 30 Pro measures roughly 158.1 x 73.6 x 8.7mm, with the thickness going up to 9.7mm around the camera bump.

The color options for Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro includes – color options – Space Silver, Cosmic Purple, Black, and Emerald Green.

Porsche Design Mate 30 RS:

Porsche Design Huawei Mate 30 RS will share the same software and hardware specs as Huawei Mate 30 Pro but has a premium design and finish similar to Mate 20 RS and comes in Black and Red colors.

Other Features:

Huawei Mate 30, Mate 30 Pro and Mate 30 RS will run on EMUI 10 based on Android. As all three of these smartphones has in-display fingerprint sensors.

Huawei Mate 30 Lite:

Price and launch date:

Huawei has officially announced that the Mate 30 series will be unveiled on September 19 in Munich, Germany. The phone series will come with EMUI 10 based on Android 10, while the prices are yet to confirm.

Huawei P60 series could show up at MWC 2023

Huawei has finalized the design of the P60 series and the flagship could appear at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 at the earliest, which is piece of amazing news.

Input coming from different Weibo tipsters suggests that Huawei has confirmed the design of the Huawei P60 series. It is the first camera module that has a giant ring in the middle followed by a camera on the top and a periscope camera placed on the bottom side.

These tipsters have seen the test model, and the company is likely to keep the below-featured camera system, unlike the one that surfaced recently. The camera bump is rectangular and houses all of the sensors inside, making it a hybrid version of P50 and P40 devices.

MWC 2023:

Another tipster suggested that the Huawei P60 series revealing could occur at MWC 2023, which will be a surprise. However, the tipster insists that it could be the earliest launch attempt that the Chinese tech maker may choose to go with.

MWC Barcelona is an annual event and 2023’s conference will start from February 27, 2023, to March 2, 2023. So, the company could book the last week of this month to open the launch or by early in March.

Xiaomi took 50 million Huawei smartphone users: President

After the events of the U.S. ban, Huawei had to reduce its capacity of building new smartphones, which result in low yield and sales, and now, Xiaomi claims that it took over 50 million of Huawei’s users.

During the Xiaomi Investment Day, Lu Weibing, President of Xiaomi Group said that Huawei has lost over 80 million smartphone users, of which, Xiaomi took over 50 million.

This is quite a big statement made by the head of the Chinese phone maker as Huawei was forced to leave the market due to the restrictions on manufacturing.

After not meeting the market requirements the share of Huawei’s smartphone market declined severely in both the Chinese and global markets. While other smartphone makers are the ones that got most of the benefits.

Xiaomi and Huawei

From the rest, Apple took over 20 million users and Honor grabbed 10 million, which accounts for an overall 80 million Huawei users.

According to the data revealed by Canalys, the global smartphone market ranked Samsung first and Apple second, which has increased by 22 percent and 19 percent respectively. While Xiaomi declined to 13 percent.

Aside from Apple and Samsung, other smartphone maker has declined. On this matter, Xiaomi’s president said that the decline in his firm is related to various reasons such as currency depreciation, chips from shortage to surplus, and intensified competition, the global mobile phone market will decline by 12% in 2022, of which the Chinese market will decline by 13%.

Why not?

It was an opportunity for all of the smartphone companies with an open opportunity to grab Huawei’s market share and it fell directly into their lap without doing anything.
