Huawei is very active in protecting its rights of using the trademark and recently, a Chinese goods seller was caught selling mosquito killer lamps and earphones with Huawei Logo, afterward, it was fined 2 million ($294000) for trademark infringement.

China’s trademark office record shows Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., and Shenzhen Zhiyuan Network Technology Co., Ltd. for unfair competition disputes.

Huawei believes that the products sold by Zhiyuan Company with the words “Huawei” infringed on its rights, and it should be liable for compensation.

Mosquito killer Huawei $294000

Matter in core:

The documents made public by the Chinese patent office reveal that the plaintiff Huawei claimed that the names of the mosquito killer lamps and earphones sold by the defendant Zhiyuan Company in the online store were marked with the words “Huawei”, and prominently used the logo similar to the plaintiff’s trademark in the page picture, constituting trademark infringement.

Mosquito killer Huawei $294000

The defendant also used words such as “official genuine Huawei general purpose” on some product pages to conduct false publicity, which constituted unfair competition. The defendant Tang, as a one-person shareholder of Zhiyuan Company, should bear joint and several liabilities.

The defendant Zhiyuan Company argued that the word “Huawei” did not appear in the title of the mosquito killer lamp product, and the plaintiff did not have any mosquito killer lamp products, so there was no possibility of confusing consumers by misidentifying the brand.

The model of the applicable phone marked on the title of the product is an industry practice, and there is no unfair competition. The defendant Tang argued that he was not the sole shareholder of Zhiyuan Company.

Meanwhile, the total sales volume of the 9 product links involved in the case exceeded 500,000 pieces, with a sales amount of more than 7.55 million yuan ($1.11 million).

The court decided that Zhiyuan Company copied and imitated the well-known trademark “Huawei” involved in the case on the sales page of mosquito killer lamps, which infringed the plaintiff’s right to exclusive use of the well-known trademark.

The prominent use of “Huawei” and other logos on the product pages and names of eight earphones violated the plaintiff’s right to exclusive use of registered trademarks. The aforementioned actions of Zhiyuan Company violated the principle of good faith and belonged to unlawful commercial publicity in a misleading manner and fair competition.

Hence court came to that defendant Zhiyuan Company when the alleged infringement occurred, could not clarify the company’s property and his personal property. In the end, the court ruled that Zhiyuan Company and Tang X (sole shareholder) should jointly compensate Huawei for economic losses of 2 million yuan ($294000) for using its copyrighted logo on mosquito killer.

Huawei P60 series is approaching but on the sidelines, Huawei is also preparing for the Nova 20 devices and is testing it with a flagship Snapdragon 8 and a high-quality camera.

According to the input coming from a Weibo tipster, Digitalchatstation, Huawei is testing the Nova series with a high-frequency flagship Snapdragon 8 series chipset, although, the tipster has not revealed the name of the device but it’s likely to be the Nova 20 lineup.

Huawei Nova series represents somewhere above the mid-range tier but the Chinese tech maker launches these devices with top-notch specs such as superfast 100W charging technology. Aside from the testing, a past report reveals that Huawei Nova 20 Pro could use a low-frequency Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ chipset.

The tipster further suggests that the phone models also tested with 108MP high-quality cameras and 50MP main cameras. These are quite amazing unveilings as Huawei is using a 108MP camera in the Nova SE models, while the 50MP camera is used in the mainstream devices.

Other than these, there’s no additional information available about the specifications or the design of the Huawei Nova 20 series.

Huawei Nova 20 flagship Snapdragon 8 chipset

Looking back into the past releases, Huawei Nova 10 and 10 Pro are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 4G octa-core chipset (Octa-core, 4 × Cortex-A78 at 2.4 GHz + 4 × Cortex-A55 at 1.8 GHz).

The Huawei Nova 9 and Nova 9 Pro also used the same processor. However, this time, the tech maker could ramp up efforts and include a new processor.

Huawei Nova 10 Pro features a triple camera system of 50 MP Ultra Vision Photography (f/1.8 aperture), 8 MP Ultra-Wide Marco Camera (f/2.2 aperture), and 2 MP Portrait Depth Camera (f/2.4 aperture).

While it uses a 60 MP Ultra-Wide Angle Autofocus Camera (f/2.4 aperture) + 8 MP Portrait Close-up Camera Camera (f/2.2 aperture) on the front side. Huawei Nova 10 series comes with a cylindrical design.

The changelog reveals that the phone is getting a new Petal Light Tour app as well as new network optimizations as well as system stability improvements for Honor Play 3e.

Honor Play 3e

To be mentioned, this is not the only old smartphone to get these new improvements as there are other EMUI 9.1 devices incorporated with such ability.

Below you can check the changelog:

Application:

  • Added a quick download icon for the Petal Light Tour app, click it to download and use it directly. Note: If the “Automatically update apps” in the app market is set to “On” or “Only under Wi-Fi”, it will be updated according to the network.

Add:

  • Network conditions automatically download applications, no need to click)

  • Make sure you phone is not rooted. You can upgrade to EMUI 9.1.0.210 via OTA.
  • This update is rolling out in batches and users who have not received it yet, please wait patiently.
  • This update will not delete your data, but it is still recommended that you back up all important data to the PC or the cloud (please do not back up to the internal storage space of the phone) before the upgrade, and confirm that the backup content is complete and valid.
  • After the upgrade, the system will perform self-optimization, which may cause the phone to generate some heat, fast power consumption, freezing, or slow charging. It will return to normal after 2-3 days. It is recommended to charge the phone with the screen off for over 2 hours after the upgrade is complete (it is best to charge it overnight with the screen off), and then restart the phone to ensure that the mobile phone application is quickly adapted.
  • After the update is complete, the system will restart, please wait patiently for about five minutes.

It’s a festive season in China but Huawei is preparing for the next big thing from the P series. Now we have a new Huawei P60 Pro concept render with a periscope camera and curved edge display, which looks cool.

An official Huawei P60 series announcement is yet to come but concept creator HoiINDI continues to bring in a new stack of CAD render to keep us excited about this upcoming.

Let’s dive into the renders.

Huawei P60 Pro is envisioned with a new camera system, which is quite popular in the leaks bytheway. It has a new P40 series with a vertical rectangular camera bump and a large ring in the center.

The camera in the center could be the main sensor and it may be inspired by P50 Pro or the latest Nova devices. Coming the bottom opening, it has a periscope camera, which is seen as a marquee feature for Pro models. However, it may not be the case with the standard, as it relies on optical zoom.

The camera system also has an extra camera on the top alongside an LED flash to capture bright images. The renders show XMAGE branding but Huawei hasn’t used it on Mate 50 Pro, released last year.

Huawei P60 Pro render

Coming to the front side, it has a curved edge display, which is also a Pro model specialty. On the other hand, the Huawei P60 Pro render shows quite slim bezels around the corners, which is also a nice touch to the details.

Overall, this is a good representation of what we will witness but there might be some surprises waiting for us on the other side. To note, these concept renders are compiled with past leaks and rumors and don’t represents the official release.

More:

There are a number of rumored specs sheets and leaks that appeared in front of us but you can check the latest details about the Huawei P60 series in the article linked below.
